Nursing

Dear students, dear students,

The first year of the study programme in general medicine includes the subject of nursing. Its aim is to assist students in acquiring professional skills that are used in professional practice by doctors and nurses alike. The content of the course includes selected professional procedures that are applied by a nurse on the basis of a doctor's order, or procedures that require the assistance and cooperation of a doctor and a nurse. Nursing consists of two separate courses - Nursing 1 in the winter semester and Nursing 2 in the summer semester. Each is assessed separately.

The aim of the course is to obtain:

- Knowledge:

    The basic principles of nursing care in outpatient and inpatient departments of hospitals,
    the principles of safety in patient care,
    the theoretical knowledge necessary for the practical training of basic professional procedures in patient care,

- the practical skills required:

    in the practical application of selected professional procedures,
    the application of preventive measures in professional procedures,
    in caring for the basic needs of the patient.
