LECTURES

Lecture time schedule: week No. 2 - 5

The lectures will be held online and will be available in the MS TEAMS (where the link to the SharePoint application is provided)

Consultations are held via MS Teams on Fridays from 10:30 to 13:20. Each consultation is led by the designated consultant according to the schedule.

Please send your questions to the Department Secretariat sona.krajcovicova@fmed.uniba.sk at no later than 24 hours before the consultation. The consultation invitation will be posted in MS Teams. If no questions are received, the consultation will not take place.

One consultation will be scheduled in the last week of the semester, regardless of whether questions are delivered.

PRACTICAL TRAININGS

Practical trainings are divided into two parts: seminar and practical.

The seminar part takes place in a distant (online) form.

Videopresentations on individual topics are published in MS Teams.

The student is obliged to watch videopresentation and to review the seminar part of the practical exercises before the practical part.

The practical part will take place in person. Practical parts for topics No. 1 – 2 (starting at 09:00) are placed in teaching rooms at the Department of Psychiatry (Mickiewiczova 13, entry E, 3rd floor). Practical part for topic No. 3 (starting at 09:00) is placed at the Department of Paediatric Psychiatry (Limbová 1, 7th floor). These practicals are marked in the schedule with §.

Practical trainings are compulsory; all presences are required for course completion. Knowledge level (according to specific topic) will be evaluated during each practical by teachers. Compensation of missing practicals must be arranged with the teacher at least 1 day in advance.

Psychiatric interview. Organisation of psychiatric care, legal aspects of psychiatric care, psychiatric emergencies, cooperation of a primary care practitioner with a psychiatrist Interviewing the patients with nonpsychotic mental disorders. Formulate a plan of management which includes the points at which referral to a specialist

Interviewing the patients with affective disorders, with schizophrenia. Formulate  a psychiatric medical history, proposal of assessement  and treatment methods. Discusse the case history with the teacher. Assesment of cognitive functions with structured rating scale. Video presentation.

Classification, aetiology and pathogenesis of mental disorders in childhood and adolescence. Interviewing the patients with mental disorder in childhood or adolescence

Type of the written test: multiple choice (i.e. any number of correct answers possible: 0-4)

Time limit to complete the test: 20 minutes

Cut-off score: 60 % of possible points

Successful completion of written test is the condition for oral examination for the subject. The condition for participation in the written test is full attendance at practices. In case of repetition of oral examination, the written test must be also repeated.
