Admission interview is for doctors with Slovak C1/C2 interested in Orthodontic specialty program FM CU - February 2024, 2 places

We would like to inform you about the date of admissions for the Slovak study of the specialisation programme of orthodontics at the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in Bratisalava with the start date from 4 March 2024, which will take place on 21 February 2024.

The admission interview will be held at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University (Špitálska 24) in front of the committee, in the room of the Vice-Deans. There is also the possibility to join online, but of course, we would prefer to welcome each of you in person. 

 

The latest possible deadline for submitting an online application is: 19.2. by 11.00 a.m.

It is necessary to send or bring the application form in writing after consultation at the Department of Specialization Studies and Certification Preparation of the Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava.

 

Date and place of the interview: 21 Feb 2024 in the Vice-Dean's room of the Aspremont Palace at 11.00 a.m.

Opportunity to undertake a mock scoping review to demonstrate the ability to conceive a professional search in orthodontic topics. More information in the online application form.

Length of specialisation study

 

The duration of the specialisation training is a minimum of 36 months of full-time postgraduate specialty training, mainly to allow specialists sufficient time to complete their research projects and the majority of their assigned orthodontic and interdisciplinary cases, as well as to monitor retention for at least a few months prior to graduation.

 

Requirements for admission to the specialty

 

(a) a second-level higher education qualification in a doctoral programme in dentistry (MDDr.) or a second-level higher education qualification in a doctoral programme in dentistry, including a specialisation in a specialisation in dentistry (M.D.) *ref. recognised equivalents

 

(b) medical and professional competence to carry out professional work activities in the health profession (dentist) [1]

 

(c) The applicant is required to have completed at least two years of full-time experience as a general dentist in a private, state or university clinic setting prior to admission to the postgraduate orthodontic programme - specialty training. This criterion may be shortened by the head of the specialty programme of the university in question in the light of the applicant's previous exceptional study or publication record [2].

 

(d) Applicants are required to have a minimum knowledge of at least one world foreign language, at least at C1 (advanced) level. This criterion may also be exceptionally lowered by the head of the specialisation programme to level B2 (intermediate) in view of the applicant's previous exceptional study results or publication outputs.

1.      Content and scope of specialisation studies

 

The content of the specialisation consists of:

(a) professional theoretical knowledge

(b) professional practical skills

(c) general knowledge and personal skills (soft skills)

The lectures were given by the top of regenerative dentistry - prof.Tayebi, USA

On 25.9.2023  in Ladziansky Auditorium was held a lecture by Professor Lobat Tayebi from Marquette University School of Dentistry Milwaukee, USA. It was the first ever lecture in the field of regenerative dentistry in the Slovak Republic.
